Screen and Nilpeter partner to launch digital press with in-line embellishment

Screen has confirmed that it will introduce an in-line technology developed in partnership with Nilpeter to meet the increasing demand for integrated digital printing and embellishment.

The company will premiere the equipment at the Labelexpo Europe 2023 along with the digital primer for Truepress Label and Truepress PAC 520P.

Screen and Nilpeter partnered up with the aim to meet the requirements of the label and packaging industry with stable and high-quality combination printing.

The new digital integrated solution combines Screen’s new Truepress Label 350UV SAI technology offering up to seven digital colours for expanded gamut along with Nilpeter’s FA-Line flexo platform and embellishment units to facilitate more efficient production of value-added labels.

Screen will be also showcasing its prototype development of an in-line inkjet digital primer for the Truepress Label 350UV SAI. The company said it addresses one of the biggest the poor ink adhesion on certain substrates issue by incorporating an in-line digital primer inside its press.

“This innovative solution not only saves time and resources but could also deliver superior ink adhesion on a wide range of substrates and better print quality that enhance visual appeal and brand impact,” the company said in a statement.

Finally, Screen will showcase the new Truepress PAC 520P inkjet digital printing press for paper packaging developed to help converters reduce the use of plastic. It is a high-speed, water-based inkjet digital press with a lower environmental impact than conventional printing processes.

The Truepress PAC 520P uses newly developed proprietary water-based pigment inks that comply with appropriate food-safety regulations.
