UK-based contract packing specialist WePack has launched its latest eco-friendly Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS), solution made entirely from paper.
VFFS – also known as vertical bagging – is a packing method where the bag is made in one continuous stream. The flat paper film is formed to a tube, filled and sealed / cut in one motion.
WePack’s product is one of the first plastic-free, compostable pouches for dry, ambient products to be launched in the UK.
These robust bags are made from 100 per cent paper but can still be heat-sealed to store dry and food products. The recyclable paper film can be printed with full branding, ready for the shelves without the need for labelling. We can also use inks that fit completely with a company’s ecological goals.
The VFFS paper bags can be formed into ready to use, stand-up pouches, which saves space and reduces transport costs over alternatives like glass jars or plastic packaging.
For businesses looking to add their own branding, WePack can use food safe inks and provide plain or printed pouches.
WePack managing director Mick Clark said, “Here at WePack, we take our responsibility to the environment very seriously and we are delighted to announce the launch of our new VFFS eco-friendly paper bags.
“Being one of the first of its kind to be manufactured in the UK, we hope our newest product shows WePack is leading the way for innovative packaging designs, which also meet the growing demand for more environmentally-friending solutions.”
