Video: Epson showcases ColorWorks C6010A label printer at APPEX

Epson was the only label printer exhibiting at the APPEX packaging machinery show in Melbourne this week.

Epson labels and packaging manager, Paul Cunningham, told ProPack he used the show to demonstrate printing on demand.

“This is a special category for Epson as it represents a sector of the market that no one else addresses,” Cunningham said.

“It brings Epson’s superior print quality from the SurePress and our industrial printing products down to a level that is suitable for small business applications. The quality from the device is astounding and we have had businesses come past and say ‘wow – this is what I would expect to get off an industrial press’.

“For $3499 RRP – it is priced at a level where a business can afford more than one machine and the total output daily would be 2,000 labels – that is quite significant in terms of label volume. Not only suitable for small business but also for large demand labelling work – they are a real workhorse. Suitable stock types include synthetic as well as matt stock and gloss.”

Cunningham confirmed several machines were sold off the stand at the show exceeding return on investment for Epson.
