New Maggi Mug Noodles set to reduce plastic packaging

Maggi has announced a change to its cup noodles with the launch of MaggiMug Noodles, which is expected to reduce plastic packaging by 83 per cent.

Available in four-packs, the new Maggi Mug Noodles are designed to go straight into a standard at-home mug in a effort to reduce plastic packaging use.

In addition, Maggi 2-Minute Chicken and Beef Noodles wrappers are now made with 50 per cent recycled plastic.

Monique Koning, head of marketing – foods, Nestlé, said the launch marks just one exciting milestone for Maggi as it works to reduce the impact of its packaging as part of its sustainability journey.

“The Maggi team is proud to be at the forefront of reducing plastic packaging in the instant noodle category. This is only the beginning of our journey,” Koning said.

Both Maggi Mug Noodles and Maggi 2-Minute Chicken and Beef Noodles wrapped in 50 per cent recycled plastic, using the mass balance approach, are rolling out on shelves now. Maggi noodles will also still be available in the original plastic cup format.
