IPACK-IMA 2022, scheduled at Fiera Milano, Italy, from 3 to 6 May 2022, will host the WorldStar Global Packaging Awards, organised by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO).

WPO president Pierre Pienaar made the announcement during the recent press conference for IPACK-IMA 2022.

“It is important for us to be present in Italy, one of the world’s leading countries in the production of packaging technologies and materials,” Pienaar said.

“Bringing our award to IPACK-IMA means highlighting innovation and design in a highly technological hub with strong international appeal. The applications we are collecting from packaging producers from all over the world, for food and non-food products, are of the highest level, with unique ideas.

“The goal of the WorldStar Awards is to raise awareness of the importance of packaging and recognise the efforts of brand owners, manufacturers, designers and branding agencies in creating solutions that address new global challenges and trends such as sustainability, hygiene and safety.”

IPACK-IMA will also celebrate the winners of the Best Packaging Awards 2022 organised by the Istituto Italiano Imballaggio (the Italian Packaging Institute) to highlight the innovation proposed by the Italian industry.
