Aussie partners win big at Coca-Cola Amatil awards

Aussie suppliers have been recognised for their efforts at Coca-Cola Amatil’s virtual partner for growth awards, celebrating ingenuity and the commitment of suppliers in helping the business deliver innovation and results in sustainability, product development, business systems and customer service.

Graphic Packaging International (GRI) received the overall Australian Partner of the Year award for consistently demonstrating supply excellence throughout all aspects of its relationship with Amatil throughout 2019.

“GRI supplies packaging to Amatil sites across Australia. GRI delivers on the fundamentals of a supply relationship with Amatil, but also demonstrate a continued partnership approach including regular targeted insights into innovation, and quarterly business reviews,” Coca-Cola Amatil said, in a statement.

“GRI lives and breathes the Amatil values and consistently receives high praise from our team members for their service and support.”

GRI also won the quality award for delivering over 140 million units to Amatil during 2019, with almost no quality issues and consistently demonstrating performance improvement behaviour.

Orora, once again, was named supply continuity award winner for delivering over 1.6 billion cans and ends to Amatil in Australia during 2019 with an almost perfect quality score.

ColorCorp won the competitive advantage award for designing a unique QR code, enabling customer-specific themed activations to support existing and new customers.

Verdia nabbed the corporate and social responsibility award for its design and install of 10,000 solar panels over two hectares of roof space across three bottling plants. Amatil said this partnership will help it save more than 4,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.

Other winners include Givaudan, Presfast, and Culture Amp, who received the customer service, innovation and growth, and rookie of the year awards respectively.

This is the fourth-year Amatil has held the awards in Australia, and the first time the event has been held virtually as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coca-Cola Amatil group managing director Alison Watkins acknowledged the significant challenges COVID-19 has presented businesses and the economy in 2020 and thanked partners for their contribution to Amatil’s performance in 2019.

“The impact of COVID-19 in 2020 has provided an acute awareness of just how critical it is to have stable, efficient and resilient supply chains,” she said.

“I’d like to thank and congratulate all of the supply partners who contributed to Amatil’s strong performance in 2019, as it has helped to provide the solid foundation for us to navigate the current challenges of COVID-19. While the challenge continues, so does our committed partnership with customers and suppliers. Together we will emerge stronger and better than ever.

“While we weren’t celebrating in person this year my hope is the virtual Partner for Growth Awards delivered moments of happiness and possibilities for everyone who participated.”
