ANZ PIDA Award winner shortlisted for WorldStar Sustainability Award

Australasian Packaging Innovation & Design (PIDA) 2023 award winner, JBS Australia & SEE is shortlisted as a finalist for the highly coveted WorldStar Packaging special award category – Sustainability.

Only winners of the PIDA awards have exclusive entry into the WorldStar Packaging Awards each year from Australia and New Zealand.

Sam Churchill, group manager Sustainability, JBS Australia said, “JBS Australia is delighted to be globally recognised for its packaging innovation efforts, in partnership with SEE. JBS is focused on feeding the world sustainably, which includes addressing the waste and durability challenges that comes with packaging.

“We are committed to evolving our packaging to reduce our footprint, by focusing on simplicity in design, considering end-of-life recycling, and using materials that keep products fresher for longer. The CRYOVAC Darfresh Mono-PET rollstock used by JBS Swift exemplifies how we can drive better environmental outcomes, all by dressing the product in less.”

Alessandra Faccin, president APAC, SEE, added,”It is an absolute honour to receive this prestigious recognition. This achievement not only underscores the brilliance of our CRYOVAC® food packaging innovation but also reflects our strong commitment to collaboration in our sustainability journey. It highlights the value we place on partnerships and the dedication of our teams, who work closely with customers to demonstrate the tangible benefits that sustainable packaging can offer.”

The winners of the WorldStar Sustainability special award will be announced on 15 June 2024 at the 2024 WorldStar Packaging Awards ceremony held at ProPak Asia, Bangkok, Thailand. A large delegation of Australian and New Zealand companies is attending the ceremony, and 14 will receive awards on the night.
