Perth-based paperboard-based packaging manufacturer Percival Print & Packaging has successfully completed its management buyout from the former owner, Westcare Incorporated.
Founded in August 1972 by George and Heather Percival, Percival Print & Packaging initially operated as a small printing press in their basement garage. Over the years, the company garnered numerous awards for its excellence in the field. The company’s journey saw several relocations, with a move to Osborne Park in 1991 and another to its current location in East Perth in 2007.
George Percival was instrumental in instilling a customer-centric approach rooted in timeless values and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. His legacy lives on through the recent management buyout following Westcare Incorporated’s acquisition of the business in 2016.

Colin Lamond, who has served as the company’s general manager for the past five years, assumes the role of managing director. During his 12-year tenure with the company, he witnessed significant transformations, including transitioning from a blend of commercial print and packaging to focusing exclusively on fibre-based packaging.
Lamond will be supported by sales director Anthony Pittaway and a new non-executive director joining the team.
The packaging industry is experiencing remarkable growth due to the rise of e-commerce, a heightened emphasis on sustainable packaging practices by brand owners, and increased consumer demand for environmentally friendly packaging.
Percival Print & Packaging is poised to capitalize on these trends and has identified them as the company’s future direction.
Lamond expressed his vision, “The acquisition of Percival Print & Packaging presents us with a unique opportunity to develop environmentally-conscious packaging solutions that align with our clients’ sustainability objectives. We see this as the primary driver of our business moving forward.”
