Luminar, Read and QLM partner to become qlmflexibles

QLM Label Makers, Luminar and Read Labels & Packaging have come together, partnering to become qlmflexibles – a new business division which is part of the QLM Label Makers Group.

Luminar recently joined the partnership, while Read has been in the QLM banner over the past year. The news follows QLM’s acquisition of Elna Press earlier this year.

With the addition of Luminar to the QLM portfolio, the latter now has a physical premises in Sydney, alongside its existing facilities in Melbourne and Brisbane locally and Vietnam, Cambodia, Bangladesh and Malaysia internationally.

Luminar, based in Riverstone in North-West Sydney, offers short-run, digital and flexible packaging solutions without plates and tooling. The company recently expanded its digital printing operations with the deployment of the Screen L350UV Inkjet Series.

Luminar manager Matt Ellis said, “For over 20 years Luminar has been working with businesses
to achieve great results by enabling access to high-quality packaging and beautiful labels produced locally, providing competitive pricing with the kind of transparency, honesty and fairness business owners need to grow”.

As for Read, the business, which is based in Melbourne’s west, uses short-run, high quality digital printing to create packaging and product labelling.

QLM said Luminar and Read’s history of service and innovation combined with QLM’s creativity and cares values will provide their combined customers with an expanded range of products including flexible packaging, premium labels, folded cartons and barcode and label printers.

QLM Group CEO Simon Pugh said, “We are incredibly humbled to combine these three great and innovative companies to provide Australian companies with truly Australian owned manufacturing.

“The QLM Group continues to invest in leading technology and solutions across the labelling and packaging sector. We constantly strive for excellence in order to enable businesses and start-ups to compete, and differentiate their products and shelf presence.

“We are delivering this to thousands of brands through competitive pricing, cutting edge technology,

transparency and on demand lead times.”

Read founder Ross Read added, “We strongly believe in the use of technology and innovation to
stay ahead of the competition. After 25 years it is time for us to grow and be able to deliver new technology, products and innovation. We hope you are as excited as we are”.
