Konica Minolta partners with industry leaders to showcase full production workflow

Digital presses specialist Konica Minolta has teamed up with a Denmark-based finishing equipment expert Grafisk Maskinfabrik (GM) to showcase the full production workflow for the label converting and packaging industry at Labelexpo Europe 2023.

Konica Minolta, which also shares its stand with its longstanding partner MGI Digital Technology, is running live demonstrations of five systems.

Konica Minolta is presenting the AccurioLabel 400 single-pass digital press to a broad, global audience at Labelexpo for the first time. Launched last year, it delivers a new level of enhanced print quality for converters, as well as benefits such as running cost reductions and the ability to expand applications with white toner. The toner press offers improved productivity with speeds of up to 40 metres per minute and is available in 4- and 5-colour configurations.

Konica Minolta and MGI showcase end-to-end Industry 5.0 Ecosystems with several partners, including ePS, OneVision, IIJ, GM and more.

To enable customers to produce variable data printing with high visual impact labels, Konica Minolta combined pre-and post-press solutions provided as turnkey offerings. The second machine on show is the toner-based entry-level AccurioLabel 230 press being configured with GM’s DC330Mini, connected in-line with the label press. This exhibit also includes an innovative art inkjet customisation project in combination with partner Industrial Inkjet Ltd (IIJ).

The equipment line up complete MGI’s JETvarnish 3D Web Compact, Octopus Web machine and Konica Minolta’s PKG-1300, designed for corrugated manufacturers, converters, printers and brand owners looking for short-run digital inkjet box printing.

As part of showcasing the full label production cycle, Konica Minolta’s is also promoting comprehensive software suites, including Accurio Pro Flex and Accurio Pro Dashboard , as well as service capabilities together with partner solutions on large screens.

Konica Minolta head of production and industrial print Jon Hiscock said, “We have a proven track record of worldwide customer adoption of the Konica Minolta AccurioLabel solutions with more than 1,200 units installed. We have been able to create long term partnerships with converters to grow their digital on-demand industrial label production.

“Labelexpo provides an important platform for us to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to customers and growing importance within industrial printing markets. The digital production of labels is now a mainstream technology and represents a significant growth market for converters to rethink possibilities.”
