Jet Technologies, in partnership with global wine solutions company Vinventions, has launched its new range of sustainable wine closures with polyvinylidene chloride-free (PVDC) liners.
Part of Jet Technologies’ initiative to promote sustainable packaging within the wine industry, the new line of screwcap closures from Vinventions – Vintop – serves as a high-performance closure solution without the PVDC liners.
The Vintopline of high-performance screwcap closures stand as a solution for winemakers looking for an eco-friendly screwcap closure with a quality look and design. With customised multi-feature cap designs, Vintop offers a full range of design options ranging from traditional offset to hot-foil printing and top embossing.
Jet Technologies said today, most wine screw cap liners are made with PVDC – an unsustainable material that when burned becomes toxic – making the new PVDC-free liners a unique addition to the market.
“In response to the environmental concerns around the use of PVDC in wine packaging, we are very pleased to be offering Vinventions’ latest line of wine closures that are not only free from PVDC, but is also BPA free,” Jet Technologies general manager Daniel Malki said.
“We have worked hard to ensure that there is no technical compromise with this eco-friendly option.
“The Vintop line is the newest addition to our initiative to improve the sustainability of wine packaging, with micro-natural wine corks and recyclable wine hoods already part of our sustainable packaging range, and we are very eager to continue working with Vinventions to further improve the sustainability credentials of our wine products in the future.”
“Removing PVDC from screwcap liners improves recyclability and subsequently lowers the environmental impact of wine packaging,” Vinventions Asia-Pacific general manager Marc Schelcher said.
“In addition to improved sustainability, the Vintop line is designed to allow for consistent oxygen management in wine, as well as retain and improve its quality.”
