Highlights from the 44th FINAT Label Competition 2024

The 2024 FINAT Label Competition showcased excellence in the label industry, with 236 entries from 45 companies across 22 countries, an increase from 212 entries in 2023. Austria led with 45 entries, followed by Greece with 24. The categories with the most entries included Wines (52) and Alcoholic Drinks (28). The competition highlights the global reach and high standards of the label printing industry.

Judges, led by Tony White, praised the high quality and variety of entries. The competition was streamlined, reducing categories from 28 to 21, consolidating less popular ones into General Applications.

Dr. Vlad Sljapic presented the awards at the FINAT European Label Forum in Athens. The event celebrated the dedication and innovation within the FINAT community.

Major Winners

Best in Show: Achertäler Druckerei GmbH & Co. KG, Germany, for Waldulmer Art Series 2023

This label impressed with its complexity, using three printing processes, two finishing techniques, three ink systems, and two screen technologies, resulting in a visually stunning product.

Marketing/End Uses: Marzek Etiketten+Packaging GmbH, Austria, for YUZUCELLO

This label stood out for its simplicity and high degree of control. It used a silver, pearlescent substrate with a gold foil embossed image.

Eltronis Specialty & Security Printing, Romania, for “Seek the Images”

This label features auto-stereograms, creating a 3D illusion that captures attention, reminiscent of the popular “Magic Eye Books.”
