AIP to host PIDAs and expert sessions at FoodTech Qld Conference

The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) will be hosting expert sessions and the annual Australasian Packaging Innovation & Design Awards (PIDAs) at the upcoming FoodTech Qld Conference.

Across 7 and 8 July, the expert sessions include content curated by the AIP, in partnership with the Australian Institute of Food Science & Technology (AIFST).

At the conference, leading experts will discuss topics such as agtech, climate science, food technology, Save Food Packaging & Food waste, Innovative packaging design for food & beverage and more.

The FoodTech Qld Conference in 2022 is made up of two different concurrent streams over the two days.

AIP packaging sessions include:

DAY 1: 7 JULY 2022

STREAM 1 – SESSION 2 [1.30 – 3.30]

Topic: Sustainability for the future – innovation & transformation

In addition, the winners of the PIDAs, which have been established to recognise companies and individuals who are making a significant difference in their field across A/NZ, will be announced at FoodTech QLD, on 8 July.

The PIDAs recognise organisations that have designed innovative packaging within six categories:
1.   Food Packaging Design of the Year
2.   Beverage Packaging Design of the Year 
3.   Health, Beauty & Wellness Packaging Design of the Year
4.   Domestic & Household Packaging Design of the Year
5.   Labelling & Decoration Design of the Year
6.   Outside of the Box Design of the Year

9. Save Food Packaging Design of the Year 
10. Sustainable Packaging Design of the Year

The PIDAs are also the exclusive feeder program for A/NZ for the WorldStar Packaging Awards run by the World Packaging Organisation. All 2022 PIDA winners will be automatically eligible for entry into the 2023 WorldStar Packaging Awards competition.
