Durst and Omet strengthen strategic hybrid partnership

Durst has announced it has strengthened its partnership with fellow family-owned Italian company OMET to develop hybrid printing systems.

Durst brings its expertise in digital printing and production technologies to the partnership, while OMET will contribute its specialisation as a manufacturer of flexographic printing systems.

Durst has confirmed the future of this partnership will see hybrid printing systems developed and manufactured, increasing the company’s focus in the labels and packaging segment.

Durst sales director for labels and packaging Thomas Macina said, “We are excited to now offer the full range of integrated conventional and digital printing solutions to all label and packaging converters around the world.”

The current Xjet platform, which has been the leading hybrid solution in the market with multiple installations worldwide, will be further improved and expanded.

The global sales and service structure of the Durst Group will fully integrate the solutions.

A joint product roadmap will speed up development and create unique solutions tuned for the next generation of highly integrated printing presses.

Omet sales director Marco Calcagni added, “Omet is proud to strengthen the partnership with Durst. We are combining the best technologies to offer excellent solutions and added value to customers.”
