Prati has collaborated with HP to create a new solution for the market – the Digifast 20000.
Combining HP’s printing technology and Prati’s finishing expertise, the Digifast 20000 is a new digital converting line that tackles the mid-web universe.
According to Prati technical expert and product leader, Matteo Bertoni, one of the growing trends today regards packaging and the fast increasing demand for mid-web solutions.
As such, both HP and Prati collaborated to design the Digifast 20000 to process mid-web requirements.
Digifast 20000 matches, in semi-rotary mode, one single printing repeat of the HP Indigo 20000, letting the printers optimise the clicks cost.
Cold UV curing technology is said to grant optimal and cost-effective results on every substrate and job set-up is expected to generate zero waste material.
Digifast 20000 can be configured to meet individual finishing requirements from varnishing to full or selective printing, embellishing and finishing either in roll or in sheet for further processing.
“The greater the demand for flexible packaging, the more there will be a need to respond with digital solutions. Digifast 20000 addresses that need and integrates different technologies for PSL, IML, shrink sleeve and wrap around,” Bertoni said.
“Fully modular and user-friendly, Digifast 20000 answers the demands of the fast-growing mid-web sector and the digital packaging market. It’s unique to the flexo market.
“The partnership with HP works both ways. HP is a known brand when it comes to printing and we’ve got the know how in finishing. HP now has a finishing solution for the Indigo 20000. It is a great opportunity for us.”
The solution is now commercially available globally.
“We’ve already had four offers on this machine at Labelexpo, and more customers potentially to buy it,” Bertoni added.
