NAPCO research vice president, Nathan Safran, will take a deep dive into the future industry trends at the ProPack Packaging Forum in Sydney.

Safran will explore the opportunities for print service providers looking to expand into the packaging category, driven by the shift towards digital technology. He is a frequent speaker at industry events and his research has been cited in the Wall Street Journal, Reuters, and Fortune Magazine.

Safran is based in Israel and is a former Forrester research analyst with extensive experience designing custom research solutions that solve client business problems.

“As print service providers seek to expand their offerings and enter new industry segments, label and package printing presents an enticing opportunity. These applications, buoyed by significant growth potential, provide both the stability printers desire and avenues to increase revenue. While entering and expanding in packaging can provide businesses with lucrative opportunities, there are challenges to be aware of and strategies to consider when making the move,” Safran said.

“We’ll explore how these trends are driving the adoption of emerging digital printing and production technologies, reinforcing sustainability objectives, and lowering entry barriers into new market segments and packaging applications.

“The session will also explore opportunities in e-commerce and how this retail revolution is impacting packaging. Additionally, this session will explore the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) in printing and packaging. In the recently released NAPCO Research and Printing United Alliance study Artificial Intelligence in the Print Industry: The Journey Begins, current use cases of AI are explored, along with printers’ and converters’ future plans for the technology. As the packaging industry continues to provide exciting growth opportunities, AI is anticipated to be among the essential technologies driving success in the segment.”

Since 1958, NAPCO has been a leading information source in the markets it serves. NAPCO is now a division of the Printing United Alliance, the largest North American association serving the printing industry. NAPCI is also the parent company of Printing Impressions, In-Plant Impressions, Packaging Impressions and Wide-Format Impressions.
