Finalists announced for 2024 ProPrint Awards

The list of finalists for the prestigious 2024 ProPrint Awards Printer 50 category has been announced as well as revised rules for this year’s peer-voted judging process.

A record number of nominations have been received for executives from the Australian printing industry that will become judges for this year’s Printer 50 event.

For the first time this year, judges can only vote for people working for other organisations – voting for colleagues from the same organisation will not be permitted and these votes will be removed during the auditing process.

Self-judging, whereby judges vote for themselves, is already not permitted and has been in place for many years. Any judges that vote for themselves, will have these specific votes removed during the auditing process and the votes will not be allocated to another finalist.

Judging will take place from Monday 30 September and close on Wednesday 2 October.

Judges are requested to vote for their top 20 finalists. 20 points are allocated to each first preference selection, 19 points are awarded to the second selection and so on.

The winner of the Printer 50 is awarded based on a ‘first past the post’ system – the finalist with the highest number of total votes from all judges, once the votes are tallied by the auditors.

All judges will receive a random order of finalists to prevent any bias in voting.

These changes have been introduced based on feedback from the industry and will ensure that the Printer 50 delivers the most transparent result for all winners and remains the most prestigious awards event in the industry.
