Actega, manufacturer of specialty coatings, inks, adhesives and sealing compounds for the print and packaging industry, has announced its participation at drupa.
At drupa, Actega experts will be based at various touchpoints across the show to present the company’s extensive range of product and technology solutions developed for printers and converters seeking more sustainable solutions and high-value embellishment options.
Actega representatives will be located on numerous partner company stands and, in the Touchpoint, Packaging Forum, showcasing the benefits of its latest barrier coatings, finishing solutions, coatings for digital printing and ECOLEAF.
“The Actega team will be exactly where they’re needed at drupa 2024 – strategically positioned at various touchpoints, around almost every corner of the show,” said Jan Franz Allerkamp, head of business line paper and board, Actega.
“Our experts will provide visitors with all of the latest information about our comprehensive product lines, providing access to our industry expertise as well as technical and regulatory know-how throughout the event.”
Actega to bring its sustainable solutions to drupa
drupa visitors can explore Actega’s portfolio of water-based barrier coatings. Engineered with sustainability in mind and to protect against internal and external substances, such as fat, water, vapor and more. Actega’s barrier coatings are used for various applications, including baking and food trays, soap boxes, and fast-food packaging.
Actega will also spotlight its finishing portfolio. Among the samples showcased will be examples of the effects achievable with UV coatings, metallic effects, drip-off applications, and tactile haptic solutions. Actega will also display its coatings suitable for digital printed applications in live demonstrations at its partner’s stand.
Actega to take the Touchpoint Packaging stage to address the latest sustainability challenges
Actega will participate in the drupa platform, Touchpoint Packaging, where major stakeholders in the industry come together to engage in insightful discussions around the future of packaging.
Actega ‘s sessions will highlight ECOLEAF – a sustainable metallization technology for labels and packaging. Paolo Grasso, sales director at Actega for ECOLEAF, will be sharing insights about the technology on Thursday, 30 May, at 11.00 am CET, focusing on the technology’s potential to reduce the carbon footprint of the metallization process by more than 50 per cent compared to traditional methods.
Actega s head of sustainability, Dennis Siepmann, will also speak on the topic of “Towards a More Sustainable Future”. Siepmann will address the pressing need for sustainability across the packaging supply chain and ACTEGA’s contributions to a greener future on Wednesday, 29 May at 11.45 am CET.

Earlier this year, Jet Technologies announced a new partnership with Actega. The partnership will focus on showcasing a number of Actega’s products in the ANZ market, including highly abrasion-resistant matt and gloss coatings, coatings for in-mold labels, and the ACTGreen Barrier Coatings.
